Softball Recap: Summit Shasta Triumphs

The Summit Shasta Black Bears narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the El Primero Lobos 8-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Black Bears.

Summit Shasta let Izzy Basaca and AJ Hall run wild. Basaca went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Hall went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Concepcion, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.

Summit Shasta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Primero only posted a batting average of .212.

Summit Shasta's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for El Primero, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit Shasta will square off against Latino College Preparatory Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for El Primero, they will welcome Design Tech at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
