Volleyball Recap: Frederick A. Douglass Comes Up Short

Frederick A. Douglass was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Willow Lions. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Willow scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20.

Frederick A. Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Willow, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Coming up, Frederick A. Douglass will head out to square off against Haynes Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Bobcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Willow, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Calvary Baptist Academy on the 27th.
