Softball Recap: Los Altos Takes a Loss

If Los Altos was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Cupertino last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Los Altos fell just short of the Milpitas Trojans by a score of 8-7 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Even though they lost, Los Altos hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive matches.

Los Altos' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Milpitas, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Coming up, Los Altos will welcome Los Gatos at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Gatos will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Los Altos surely won't give up without a fight. As for Milpitas, they will head out to take on Gunn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Milpitas' pitchers better be ready for this one: Gunn has averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
