Softball Recap: Cuba-Rushford Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bolivar-Richburg, Cuba-Rushford was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Canisteo Redskins. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rebels as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jordan Radomski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Claire Moyer, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Aubrey Williams was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Cuba-Rushford's victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Coming up, Cuba-Rushford is taking a road trip to take on Arkport Central at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Canisteo, they will venture away from home to square off against Campbell-Savona at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Redskins are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
