Recap: Plum Mustangs vs. Fox Chapel Foxes
The Plum Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 70-55 bruising from Fox Chapel. While losing is never fun, Plum can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while the Foxes are ranked 135th).
Fox Chapel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jefferson Moorefield-Brown, who scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Patterson, who scored 13 points.
Plum has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Fox Chapel, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plum will take on the Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodland Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 196 points over their last three matchups. As for Fox Chapel, they will head out on the road to face off against the River Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
