Basketball Recap: Pearl City Takes a Loss

After flying high against Durand last Tuesday, Pearl City came back down to earth. The Pearl City Wolves fell to the Dakota Indians 51-45. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost seven in a row.

Dakota found their leader in freshman Makenna Stuckey, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Stuckey has scored at least a third of Dakota's points. Cora Ingram was another key player, putting up ten points along with six boards and three steals.

Pearl City's loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Dakota, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Pearl City has already played their next game (against Orangeville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Dakota will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Beloit at 6:45 p.m. on February 10th.
