Softball Game Preview: Newport Cubs vs. Philomath Warriors

Meanwhile, Philomath came up short against Cascade on Wednesday, falling 13-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Philomath saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Bennett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Philomath now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Newport, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
