Softball Game Preview: Greenbrier West Cavaliers vs. Wahama White Falcons

The Greenbrier West Cavaliers will be taking part in a tournament against the Wahama White Falcons at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Greenbrier West is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

If Greenbrier West beats Wahama with 12 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Cavaliers didn't even let Mount View on the board on Wednesday, marking the Cavaliers' second-straight 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won 12 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wahama, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over Sherman on Friday.

Elissa Hoffman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven runs (all of which were unearned) on ten hits.

At the plate, Audrey Reynolds was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalyn Christian, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Greenbrier West's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Wahama, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season.
