Recap: Celeste Blue Devils vs. Wolfe City Wolves
After flying high against the Whitewright Tigers last Tuesday, the Celeste Blue Devils came back down to earth. Celeste suffered a rough 60-36 loss at the hands of Wolfe City on Friday. Celeste was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.
Despite the loss, Celeste still got an impressive performance from Taylea West, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. West continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddieclaire Park, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Celeste has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-9 record this season. As for Wolfe City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-13.
Celeste will head out on the road to face off against Sam Rayburn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Sam Rayburn is ranked 756th, while Celeste is ranked 761st). As for Wolfe City, they will be playing at home against Honey Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Honey Grove has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
