Mattawan entered their tilt with Kalamazoo Christian on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Comets. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Comets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Kellan Wilder tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Patrick Dougherty, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits he has posted over his last eight contests. Kaden Jominy was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Mattawan's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Kalamazoo Christian, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-4.
