Baseball Game Preview: Lake Fenton Blue Devils vs. Kearsley Hornets

The Lake Fenton Blue Devils will challenge the Kearsley Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Lake Fenton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Lake Fenton didn't have quite enough to beat Owosso and fell 9-8.

Meanwhile, Kearsley never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Fenton. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Hornets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The result came thanks to Chase Tobias's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Kearsley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Fenton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-1.

Lake Fenton took their victory against Kearsley in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 12-6 score. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
