Baseball Game Preview: Haverford Fords vs. Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials

The Haverford Fords will challenge the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Haverford will be strutting in after a victory while Plymouth Whitemarsh will be coming in after a loss.

Haverford will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Garnet Valley, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Haverford came out on top in a nail-biter against Garnet Valley on Wednesday, sneaking past 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fords.

Gavin McClafferty looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Shane Durkan was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Plymouth Whitemarsh unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Council Rock North on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Mason Eagland was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
