Baseball Game Preview: North Canyon Rattlers vs. Paradise Valley Trojans

North Canyon is 0-10 against Paradise Valley since April of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Rattlers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 3:45 p.m. North Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

North Canyon is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 10-0 to Estrella Foothills.

North Canyon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilio Figueroa, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Paradise Valley made easy work of Shadow Mountain on Friday and carried off an 11-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

The team relied heavily on Adair Ortiz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nick deChaud, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Paradise Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Paradise Valley now has a winning record of 9-8. As for North Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
