Softball Game Preview: Person Rockets vs. Western Alamance Warriors

The Person Rockets will challenge the Western Alamance Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Person fell victim to Eastern Alamance and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, the Rockets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Western Alamance got the win against Southern Alamance on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-2. Considering the Warriors have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Western Alamance let Bayleigh Burris and Ryan Justice run wild. Burris went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double, while Justice went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Justice has posted since back in February. Kyndal Wilborn was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Western Alamance kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Western Alamance's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Person, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
