Football Recap: Wilmington Friends Falls Short Against Ranked Archmere Academy

Wilmington Friends faced Archmere Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Quakers lost 28-6 to the Auks. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, the Quakers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Archmere Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Donovan, who rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards and one TD. Another signal caller making a difference was Johnny Orsini, who threw for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes.

Wilmington Friends now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Archmere Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coincidentally, Wilmington Friends and Archmere Academy will both be playing Mount Pleasant the next time they take the field. The Auks will host the Green Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Quakers will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on the 18th.
