Mid-Valley league recap: 3/13/13

Quincy made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from fourth to first place in Mid-Valley thanks to a 2-1 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Biggs fell hardest in the standings, dropping from second all the way to fifth place after going 1-2 in the past week.

The Trojans had a successful week, as they won two total games to lead the league. Quincy beat Portola 8-6 and Princeton 11-0.

Maxwell's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing four hits and three walks to lead the league in both categories.

The Wolverines' Jacob Owen was locked in this week, and led the league with a .667 average (2-for-3) over that span. For the season, he's hitting .333, good for 18th in the league. Owen has totaled three hits this season.

Colusa's Hayden Bailey struck out ten Modoc hitters en route to a 7-1 victory on March 8. Over seven innings of work, he gave up two hits and one run.
