Basketball Recap: Richwoods Beats Freeport for Their Third Straight Win

Richwoods extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They walked away with an 87-75 victory over the Freeport Pretzels. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Freeport, they now have a losing record of 1-2. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kazion Morehead and Andrew Seward certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Morehead posted 21 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while Seward went 5-for-8 en route to 18 points and three steals. Seward's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Mosely, who scored 11 points.

Looking ahead, Richwoods and Boylan Catholic will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Freeport, they will take on Belvidere at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
