Softball Game Preview: Dinwiddie Generals vs. Petersburg Crimson Wave

Dinwiddie has gone a perfect 10-0 against Petersburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Generals will challenge the Crimson Wave at 6:00 p.m. Dinwiddie will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Dinwiddie is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 13-9 win over Prince George on Tuesday.

Dinwiddie let Kailie Bookman and Nala Bain run wild. Bookman scored three runs while going 4-for-4, while Bain went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Bookman a new career-high. Addison Dickenson also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Dinwiddie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Petersburg didn't have quite enough to beat John Marshall on Monday and fell 11-10. The Crimson Wave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The victory got Dinwiddie back to even at 2-2. As for Petersburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything went Dinwiddie's way against Petersburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Dinwiddie made off with a 16-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
