Sports & Medical Sciences Academy proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the University Hawks. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won four contests in a row.

Sports & Medical Sciences Academy took University into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-16, 20-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Analiah Rivera paced Sports & Medical Sciences Academy's offense, picking up 17 kills. Rivera got some help from Lucynda Martir and her 32 assists. Martir and Rivera didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with six apiece.

Sports & Medical Sciences Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for University, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sports & Medical Sciences Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Academy of International Studies at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, University will take on rival Academy of Science and Innovation at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
