Albemarle kept a clean sheet against Goochland on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs. Given Albemarle's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Goochland are ranked 207th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gavin Appel and Devin Kriebel scored all three of Albemarle's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

The win made it two in a row for Albemarle and bumps their season record up to 6-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two games. As for Goochland, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Albemarle will challenge Western Albemarle at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Goochland, they will take on Louisa County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Goochland will be up against Louisa County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.2 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
