Basketball Recap: Dunbar Piles Up the Points Against Bard

On Wednesday, Dunbar faced Bard in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Dunbar Crimson Tide blew past the Bard Falcons, posting a 60-6 victory. The Crimson Tide have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dunbar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laila Perry-Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. Perry-Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jamia Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Dunbar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The win was the third in a row for Dunbar, bringing their record for this year to 10-11. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 15.7 points per game. As for Bard, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Dunbar has already played their next game, a 63-10 victory against Cardozo on the 31st. Bard has also already played their next match (against Anacostia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
