Basketball Recap: Sumner Comes Up Short

Sumner lost against Albany back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sumner Cowboys received a blow as they fell 54-35 to the Albany Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Hornets are ranked 89th).

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Albany, they have been performing well recently as they've won 18 of their last 22 games, which provided a nice bump to their 27-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sumner will challenge Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Albany, they will venture away from home to face off against Loranger at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Albany is facing Loranger at the right time seeing as Loranger is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
