Football Game Preview: Armstrong (Kennedy) Wildcats vs. Hanover Hawks

Armstrong (Kennedy) is 0-3 against Hanover since October of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Armstrong (Kennedy)'s defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Atlee 38-0. The win was just business as usual for the Wildcats, who after eight games remain undefeated this season.

It was another big night for Anthony Hansom, who threw for 323 yards and three TDs while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 51 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. Those 51 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Zion Williams was Hansom's top target, picking up 97 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Armstrong (Kennedy)'s defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Ronald Jackson was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Another thorn in Atlee's side was Donzell Jones-Teal, who made 13 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hanover, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 47-7 victory over Henrico. With the Hawks ahead 30-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Armstrong (Kennedy)'s win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Hanover, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
