Basketball Game Preview: Mary Star of the Sea Stars vs. AGBU Titans

Having just played yesterday, the Mary Star of the Sea Stars will jump right back in to play the AGBU Titans at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mary Star of the Sea's tournament run continued when they took on Kennedy on Thursday. Mary Star of the Sea took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kennedy. The game marked the Stars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, AGBU earned a 34-27 victory over Godinez Fundamental on Thursday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Grizzlies are ranked 893rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mary Star of the Sea's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for AGBU, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.

Mary Star of the Sea ended up a good deal behind AGBU when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 54-38. Can Mary Star of the Sea avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
