Soccer Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dover can now relate to. They came up short against the Marietta Tigers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Dover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Marietta are ranked 36th).

The defeat snapped Dover's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 11-8-1 record. As for Marietta, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-2-1.

Dover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marietta, they will square off against Archbishop Hoban at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Marietta will need to watch out since Archbishop Hoban have now posted at least four goals in their last six contests.
