Basketball Recap: Westover Christian Academy takes loss despite strong efforts from Malachai Waller and Caleb Hill

After flying high against the Christian Heritage Academy Knights last Tuesday, the Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs came back down to earth. Westover Christian Academy took a 56-40 bruising from the Crusaders on Friday. Westover Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Caleb Hill and Malachai Waller certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hill scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Waller scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Waller is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted four or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeley Bettendorf, who scored six points.

Westover Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Temple Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.

Westover Christian Academy will take on the Crusaders at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Temple Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 425 points over their last seven contests. As for they, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westover Christian Academy at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully Westover Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
