Recap: Canyon Comanches vs. St. Paul Swordsmen
Even though the St. Paul Swordsmen scored an imposing 56 points on Wednesday, the Canyon Comanches still came out on top. Canyon enjoyed a cozy 71-56 win over St. Paul. Given Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while St. Paul is ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jaden Goodall, who scored 32 points along with eight rebounds. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Brady Curry was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Canyon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for St. Paul, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Canyon will finish 2023 at home by hosting Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Auburn is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. St. Paul won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against San Joaquin Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th.
