Football Recap: Valley View Comes Up Short

Valley View dropped to 2-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 45-7 loss at the hands of the Abington Heights Comets. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

As for Abington Heights, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Abington Heights was led to victory by Jayden Anglin and Nick Bradley. Anglin gained 170 total yards and two touchdowns, while Bradley rushed for 59 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. What's more, Bradley posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Valley View and Abington Heights should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 126th) will meet Honesdale (ranked 422nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Abington Heights will take on North Pocono at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (104 vs. 224). The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Comets 14.5, the Trojans 8.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
