With a playoff win on the line, Ayersville rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They skirted past the Calvert Senecas 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Pilots, who have now won 17 contests in a row.

Kendra Waldron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Miki Shreve, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Ayersville's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Calvert, they moved to 20-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Ayersville will challenge Mohawk at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Pilots surely won't give up without a fight. Calvert does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
