Baseball Game Preview: Kentridge Chargers vs. Auburn Trojans

For the second straight game, Kentridge will face off against Auburn. The Chargers will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Kentridge will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Kentridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Auburn get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The Chargers have beaten the Trojans the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.

Akoni Nazarino tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Ethan Sugimoto and Teegan O'Brien did most of the damage at the plate: Sugimoto scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while O'Brien went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. What's more, Sugimoto posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Brendyn Malapitan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Kentridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Auburn's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Kentridge, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
