Softball Recap: Amphitheater Panthers vs. Sahuarita Mustangs
Amphitheater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 12-2 loss at the hands of the Sahuarita Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Amphitheater of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Monday.
Amphitheater saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaya Escalante, who went 3-for-3 with a double.
On Sahuarita's side, Mayrani Munoz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Munoz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run.
