Football Game Preview: Westview Wildcats vs. Jesuit Crusaders

Westview is 0-10 against Jesuit since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will host the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. The game will give Westview their first taste of in-conference action this season.

On Friday, Westview lost to Glencoe on the road by a 37-19 margin. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Despite the defeat, Westview got top-tier performance from Heath Thompson, who rushed for 61 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Thompson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Jesuit never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past Grant to the tune of 36-0. The Crusaders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Westview better keep an eye on Luke Ortner. He was instrumental in Jesuit's win, rushing for 156 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 32 receiving yards. Jack Wilson was another key player, throwing for 142 yards and three TDs.

The win got Jesuit back to even at 2-2. As for Westview, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Westview has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 407.5 total yards per game. It's a different story for Jesuit, though, as they've been averaging only 233.5 total yards.
