Basketball Game Preview: Apopka Blue Darters vs. Hagerty Huskies

The Apopka Blue Darters will head out on the road to square off against the Hagerty Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Apopka is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Oak Ridge on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Apopka came up short against Oak Ridge, falling 68-44. While losing is never fun, the Blue Darters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Pioneers are ranked 58th).

Meanwhile, Hagerty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Winter Springs and fell 55-26. The Huskies were down 43-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Hagerty's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Apopka, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

Apopka came up short against Hagerty in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 37-31. Thankfully for Apopka, Kylee Kitts (who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 18 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
