Baseball Recap: El Capitan Triumphs

El Capitan came out on top against Valhalla on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Vaqueros sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Norsemen. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vaqueros have posted against the Norsemen since April 14, 2023.

The team relied heavily on Seth Walker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for El Capitan: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of David Vera, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

El Capitan's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12. As for Valhalla, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

El Capitan has already played their next match, an 18-1 defeat against Granite Hills on the 8th. As for Valhalla, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-6 victory against Grossmont on the 8th.
