Volleyball Recap: Idaly Sotelo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Plains over Timber Creek

West Plains was the 2-0 winner over Timber Creek when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

West Plains' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Idaly Sotelo, who had 19 digs and two assists. Sotelo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Ava Barksdale was another key player, getting 12 digs and two aces.

Addison Wilcox was nothing short of spectacular for Timber Creek: she had 17 digs and three assists. That's the most assists Wilcox has posted over her last four matches. Toree Rayford also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

West Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Timber Creek, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

West Plains wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Liberty on the 19th. As for Timber Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Northwest on the 19th.
