Basketball Recap: Jared Kempton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Duncan over Joseph City + How To Watch

If Duncan was riding high fresh off their 49-20 takedown of Lourdes Catholic on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildkats lost 70-44 to the Joseph City Wildcats on Thursday. The Wildkats were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in November of 2022.

Duncan's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jared Kempton, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Sumner, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Cort Miller had an outrageously good game for Joseph City as he almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine steals. Those 24 points gave Miller a new career-high. Heston Miller was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.

Duncan's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Joseph City, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Duncan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 40-33 defeat against Bisbee on the 21st. As for Joseph City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-33 win against San Simon on the 21st.
