Basketball Recap: Heritage Coyotes vs. The Colony Cougars
Heritage proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 36) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-66 win over The Colony Cougars. This was payback for the Coyotes, who suffered a 78-75 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Heritage to victory were Bryson Howard and Garrett Shelton. Howard shot 65% from the field on his way to 30 points along with seven boards and four steals, while Shelton shot 5-for-7 from long range and almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Shelton now owns an excellent 45.7% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Balanzategui, who posted ten points.
