The Woods Cross Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Bountiful RedHawks at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Woods Cross is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Woods Cross' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Northridge. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Woods Cross got a massive performance out of Alex Razee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Razee has posted since back in April of 2024. Stetson Chritchley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Woods Cross was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Bountiful and Viewmont have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The RedHawks fell 5-1 to the Vikings. The RedHawks have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Cash Stump was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Stump was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Stump wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyson Burningham, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Woods Cross' victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Bountiful, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Woods Cross has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bountiful struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Woods Cross beat Bountiful 4-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the RedHawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
