Football Game Preview: Westover vs. Overhills

On Friday Westover will take on Overhills at 7:30 PM. Westover are limping into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Westover were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their contest against Terry Sanford last Friday. Westover lost to Terry Sanford by a decisive 19-34 margin. Westover's defeat came about despite a quality game from junior Keyshown Lindsey, who rushed for 157 yards and 1 touchdown. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Lindsey's 53-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Overhills have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Douglas Byrd 22-20. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.

Overhills's victory lifted them to 4-3 while Westover's loss dropped them down to 2-5. In their victory, Overhills relied heavily on senior Zion Gilliam, who rushed for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. Westover will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
