Basketball Recap: Gardner-Edgerton Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Gardner-Edgerton extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Landri Schaffer. The Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers really took it to the Pembroke Hill Raiders for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-22 win thanks in part to Schaffer, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 25 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Gardner-Edgerton's points.

Morgan Beasley was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Gardner-Edgerton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Pembroke Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Gardner-Edgerton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Shawnee Mission East on February 4th. As for Pembroke Hill, they will square off against St. Teresa's Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Teresa's Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Pembroke Hill surely won't give up without a fight.
