Volleyball Recap: Perry Central Comes Up Short

Perry Central managed to slip by Springs Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Commodores lost 3-0 to the Blackhawks on Thursday. The Commodores' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Perry Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-18.

Masen Labhart paced Perry Central's offense, picking up 14 kills. Labhart got some help from Mya Litherland and her 15 assists. Labhart was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Perry Central's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 23-7. As for Springs Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Perry Central and Pike Central will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springs Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
