Heritage is 2-8 against Loudoun Valley since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pride will challenge the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Heritage will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Heritage came out on top against Rock Ridge on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fifth inning. The Pride were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Phoenix.
Noelle Smith was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Dooley, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Heritage hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Loudoun Valley suffered their closest loss since April 3rd on Thursday. They fell just short of Tuscarora by a score of 8-6. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Anna Ramos was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Harlie Reich was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Loudoun Valley now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Heritage, their record is now 12-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Heritage hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Loudoun Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Heritage couldn't quite get it done against Loudoun Valley in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 8-5. Can the Pride avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
