Basketball Recap: Dollar Bay Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Dollar Bay won the last time they faced Watersmeet, and Aubrey Karppinen did her part to make sure it happened again. The Dollar Bay Bays breezed past the Watersmeet Nimrods to the tune of 63-33 on Tuesday thanks in part to Karppinen, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kiera Isaacson, who scored six points and 16 rebounds. Dollar Bay is 2-1 when Isaacson posts ten or more boards, but 5-9 otherwise.

Dollar Bay's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points over those games. As for Watersmeet, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Dollar Bay will look to defend their home court on Friday against Baraga at 6:00 p.m. As for Watersmeet, they will venture away from home to challenge Wright at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
