Volleyball Recap: Chatfield Has No Trouble Against Rushford-Peterson

Chatfield had won three straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 14-6 to make it four. They put the hurt on the Rushford-Peterson Trojans with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Gophers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Trindy Barkeim paced Chatfield's offense, picking up 19 kills. Barkeim got some help from Harper Goldsmith and her 32 assists. Goldsmith also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Hannah Tweten, each putting up two.

As for Rushford-Peterson, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2. Considering the last time they couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

Addison Drinkall and Kayla Magin certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Drinkall had 12 digs and one assist, while Magin had 12 assists and six digs. Drinkall has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times she's played.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chatfield will square off against rival St. Charles at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rushford-Peterson is set to challenge their familiar foe Cotter at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
