Football Recap: Miami Comes Up Short

Miami managed to slip by Grove the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wardogs came up short against the Ridgerunners on Thursday, falling 36-13. While losing is never fun, the Wardogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Ridgerunners are ranked 36th).

Blaise Riley threw for 28 yards on three of eight attempts. On the ground, Donick Garfield rushed for 120 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.

Miami is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Miami didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-7 defeat against Cushing on the 23rd. As for Grove, they have also already played their next matchup, a 50-20 win against Wagoner on the 24th.
