Baseball Recap: Scurry-Rosser Comes Up Short

Scurry-Rosser's last matchup with Grand Saline could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Scurry-Rosser Wildcats lost 9-3 to the Grand Saline Indians. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Scurry-Rosser saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Wagner, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

This is the second loss in a row for Scurry-Rosser and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Grand Saline, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Scurry-Rosser will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Rice at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give Rice their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Grand Saline, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-2 win against Palmer on the 28th.
