Softball Recap: Bishop Montgomery Takes a Loss

If Bishop Montgomery was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Ramona Convent last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bishop Montgomery took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves on Monday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Macey Kim was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Abigail Green, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Kim wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bishop Montgomery kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.

Bishop Montgomery's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, their record is now 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Montgomery will venture away from home to face off against Bishop Conaty-Loretto at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, they will head out to challenge Mira Costa at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
