Preview: Dulaney Lions vs. Harford Tech Cobras
The Dulaney Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Harford Tech Cobras at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Dulaney will be strutting in after a win while Harford Tech will be coming in after a defeat.
On Friday, Dulaney sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 victory over New Town. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Dulaney has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Harford Tech's 19-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were outmatched by Fallston on the road and fell 52-19. While losing is never fun, Harford Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Fallston is ranked 32nd).
Despite their loss, Harford Tech saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Abi Marcello, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Jordan Strang was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Dulaney's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Harford Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Dulaney came up short against Harford Tech when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 79-74. Can Dulaney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
