It was a proper cat-fight when Calvary Christian duked it out with Walton-Verona on Thursday. The Cougars came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

The win didn't come easy: Walton-Verona scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21.

Walton-Verona's loss came despite strong showings from Annie Allen and Ashlan Emerson. Allen had ten digs, while Emerson had 12 kills and 12 digs. Emerson has been hot recently, having posted seven or more kills the last three times she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Calvary Christian and bumps their season record up to 20-5. As for Walton-Verona, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Calvary Christian will square off against Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walton-Verona, they will challenge Gallatin County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
