Baseball Recap: Linn Takes a Loss

Linn extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 9-14 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Owensville Dutchmen. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Linn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Dudenhoeffer, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for Owensville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

On Owensville's side, Jaden Gerlemann was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Gerlemann a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jansen Loeb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Linn will head out on the road to face off against New Bloomfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Owensville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. James at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
